　Maxim Integrated Products, Inc. (NASDAQ: MXIM)宣布推出Pocket IO可編程邏輯控制器(PLC)開發平臺，大幅提升生產效率。該平臺幫助用戶實現下一代PLC設計的最小外形尺寸和最高電源效率。
　　對于需要確保每天24小時、每周7天連續運轉生產線的工業4.0設計者，生產率損失是其面臨的共同挑戰。如果不能隨時獲取智能管理數據，工廠操作員則無法實時地做出明智的決策，從而有效提高設備正常運轉時間，提升收益和利潤。除實時捕獲數據外，PLC需要在嚴苛的工業環境下進行操作(無風扇)，這就需要高效電源來減小散熱。
　　Maxim的Pocket IO PLC開發平臺重新定義了工廠運作方式并支持工業4.0應用。為最大程度提高生產力，該平臺通過實時智能管理技術，可快速、有效地做出決策，自適應生產可規避故障停機，分布式控制則提供冗余支持。Pocket IO平臺為提高生產力提供以下關鍵優勢：
　實時智能管理：快速數據處理為快速、高效地做出明智決策提供必要數據，優化生產。
　　自適應生產：允許靈活實時改變、調整生產過程，規避故障停機。
　　分布式控制：不到10立方英寸的超小尺寸和智能化電源管理使PLC能夠植入到生產線，進行重新分配和智能控制，并提供冗余支持。
　　與兩年前的Micro PLC平臺相比，Pocket IO的尺寸減小2.5倍、功耗降低30%。MAX14913八通道高邊開關和驅動器內置快速、安全的消磁箝位電路(正在申請專利)，省去前期方案中的16個二極管，空間縮小15倍。此外，MAX17681隔離buck DC-DC轉換器可以提供高于90%的效率，比之前產品的電源效率提高近5%。MAX31913八通道、數字輸入轉換器/串行器可以在關斷任意5V電源的同時，允許輸入端作用高達36V的信號，省去24V電源引腳的所有保護元件，使整體方案尺寸減小50%。
